Mat Carlsson

President

An experienced Sales and Marketing professional with extensive experience gained from a diverse range of industries and academic studies specialising in the digital marketing field. His core skills include: Digital Marketing Strategy; Leadership And Development; SEO; SEM; Brand Management; Social Media Advertising; Social Media Management; Content Creating and Planning; Website Development; E-Commerce Strategy; Account and Relationship Management.

Mat has a real passion for business and succeeding in every aspect of his life;. He likes working in a high paced environments.

Allan Price

Vice President

Allan is a long term resident of Busselton, married, 4 adult children, family first and without waiver he supports small business. Allan accepts challenges to achieve outcomes within difficult situations. “I believe there may be room for improvement in how the COB communicates its intentions to the wider community. It seems there could be more clarity and direction, and perhaps a more inclusive approach that considers a variety of perspectives rather than being overly influenced by specific groups.” An invested Community minded member who founded and continues as a committee member of Transafe WA. Allan also supports our young sportspeople through our Rising Sport Star awards. Allan has extensive experience in business. He is the Director / GM of a family business, circa 140 staff / subcontractors, operations include transport, retail, driver training, food, fuel, hair & beauty.

Michael Brown

Immediate Past President

Michael Brown, South West Regional College of TAFE has 32 years experience as a professional, managing small businesses in tourism, professional services as well as in the mining sector. He holds an MBA, Grad Dip Bus Mgt, Grad Dip VET and B.Sc and is a graduate of AICD. He currently lectures Leadership and Management for SR TAFE and along with his wife created the tourism business Forest Adventures which is now part of MRBTA. He has given his time and expertise to the BCCI for the past 12 years and continues his tenure as President of the BCCI for 2022-23

Victoria Sorrell

CEO

Victoria has been teaching small business owners how to use the power of social media to build their business for over 8 years. She previously owned and taught in her Yoga studio, owned a Fair-Trade gift shop, bookstore, and owned and managed a Wellness Centre.
Victoria has had multiple eCommerce stores and currently is the Co-Director of a skin care company -Aussenskin. She is the author of 3 books on managing your stress and she was one of the facilitators for the Encore, a free breast cancer wellness exercise program in Busselton and Bunbury.
With her extensive experience in business, eCommerce, and years teaching Digital Marketing, Victoria uses her Bachelor of Teaching and Cert IV in Small Business knowledge, and eCommerce certifications to help support businesses.

Bronwyn Watt

Chief Operations Officer - Events & Administration

Bronwyn  has been with the BCCI for 10 years and takes great pride in keeping all the ‘behind the scenes’ action happening to assist the progression and growth of the Busselton Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Prior to moving to Dunsborough with her family, Bronwyn worked in Business Tourism for the Perth Convention Bureau and Business Events Sydney, and has had a long career in Hospitality specifically the Meetings, Incentive, Convention and Exhibition industry with both Starwood Resorts and Accor Hotel Groups both in WA and NSW. Since being in the South West, Bronwyn has turned her hand to relief teaching, real estate and managing a Boutique Resort with her husband. Bronwyn has a Bachelor of Arts in Education specialising in Music!

Ashley Eddy

Membership Officer

With a passion for building connections and a background in education and customer service, Ash is excited to meet with local businesses to understand their unique challenges and find solutions through the benefits of a BCCI membership. After teaching Drama at various schools in Perth and working as a travel consultant, Ashley stepped away from a full time career to raise her own two little adventurers. During this time she has also taught after school drama classes in a part-time capacity both in Perth and in Busselton after ‘moving back home’ in 2023. She is looking forward to getting back into the workforce just a few doors down from where she first began honing her customer service skills at the ripe old age of Fourteen at Kent St. Bakery!

Clete Mathews

Board Member

By joining the BCCI, Clete’s main objective is to provide support for local small businesses and the community. Having lived in the Busselton Area for now over 10 years Clete’s desire is to make a stronger and vibrant community. He has over 12 years experience in Building the Construction Sector largely in Busselton and Vasse and prior to this he worked as Director of Finance and Corporate Services for over 27 years in the Health Sector of Metro West Australia. At this time, Clete was on the Board of Path West as Finance Director. Clete is an accountant by trade and has a Bachelor of Business in Accounting and minor in Commercial Law. In addition he has a Masters of Hospital Management and a Fellow of Health Administration and Management.

Cameron Edwards

Board Member

Cameron Edwards has worked in retail leadership and corporate affairs roles in the telco world for more than 20 years in WA.
He enjoys making the complex simple and helping people think differently.

David Markovich

Board Member

David Markovich has worked on building sites and residential properties, driven trucks, and helped build a refugee camp after the Rwandan genocide. In a professional capacity, David previously worked as a research and policy economist and, for the last couple of decades, a lawyer. He has lived and worked around Australia, New York City and Washington DC, London and Birmingham, and Israel, and holds a B.Comm (Econ) with merit, LLB (Hons 1st class) and Grad Cert in Migration Law and Practice (Social Justice Scholarship). David is thrilled to have made his roots in the South West and is involved with various local community groups. 

Chris Hopa

Interim Finance Director

Chris is a Chartered Accountant with over 13 years of experience in corporate restructuring, insolvency, business banking and consulting. With a strong background in navigating high-pressure financial situations, Chris has spent a decade assisting a range of small to medium sized business restructure and optimise. An additional three years in banking, specialising in distressed lending and agribusiness, has enhanced his ability to assess financial health and
lead strategic turnarounds.
In 2022, Chris and his family moved from Perth to the South-West, seeking a balanced lifestyle that aligns with personal and professional growth. He is now an owner of two small businesses, including a joint Occupational Therapy practice with his wife, and Allied Solutions, a business consultancy focusing on helping small businesses in the South-West to streamline their operations and optimise their financial and strategic health.
Outside of work, Chris enjoys family time with his wife and twin boys, embracing the lifestyle that the beautiful South-West region offers.
Volunteering and working with events including Jazz by the Bay, Procure Southwest, Ironman, Fringe, amongst others, has enabled her to what she loves best, build teams and processes.

Simon Fairbrother

Board Member

Born and raised in Port Elizabeth, South Africa, Simon built a diverse career spanning the health, retail, and motor industries before eventually settling in Australia. From managing gyms in both South Africa and the US, to co-owning an appliance and bedding store, and later leading sales teams for major automotive brands, his journey has been anything but ordinary.

In 2008 he moved with his family to Busselton, joining Busselton Toyota and ultimately becoming General Manager over an 18-year tenure.

Today, he proudly serves as Group Training Manager at Get Careers, committed to supporting local businesses and helping young people across the region find their career pathways.

Ian Mullins

Board Member

Ian is a Principal Environmental Scientist with over 15 years of experience in environmental management, regulatory approvals, and multidisciplinary project delivery. As the South West Manager for MBS Environmental, he supports industry, government, and community organisations in navigating Western Australia’s environmental and compliance frameworks. His work focuses on practical, outcomes-driven solutions that balance economic opportunity with responsible environmental stewardship. Ian moved to the South West in 2018, seeking a community-focused lifestyle that aligned with both personal and professional goals. Since then, he has developed strong relationships across the region and has been closely involved in projects that contribute to sustainable growth and long-term regional prosperity. Outside of work, Ian enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters, along with making the most of the South West lifestyle through surfing, gardening, and exploring the local coastline.  

Simon Green

Board Member

In his mid 20’s Simon was a licensed Real Estate and business agent with Triennial certificate, self funded with 2 houses under his belt and travelling the globe where he met his now wife Sarah Green. Since their life begin in the sleepy little hollow of Nannup the pair have been working on bigger things. They have taken their fledgling business, Southern Forrest Honey, from a a team of 2 to now indirectly providing part time employment for 5 separate families. As well as supporting Western Australian beekeepers by purchasing and promoting WA honey.


Simon is also a well accomplished public speaker and enjoys discussing a wide range of subjects , but mostly Bees and international trade.

Simon returns to real estate with Belle Acton Property after more than 15 years of involvement in various facets of business across a wide range of industries, with a background in business farming and development. He is a highly successful negotiator with an adaptable nature and energetic attitude, using these skills to conduct successful sales campaigns and build genuine relationships with his clients.
