Who we share your data with

If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where we send your data

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

Verified Local: Busselton app

This section explains how Busselton Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Incorporated) (ABN 31 149 768 845) (“BCCI”, “we”, “us”) handles information when you use the Verified Local: Busselton mobile app (“the app”).

No account needed

You can use the app without creating an account. We do not ask for your name, email address or phone number to use the app.

Information the app collects

  • Device identifiers. The app platform uses a technical identifier for your device so the app can work properly. This does not identify you by name.
  • Search queries. When you use the app’s search assistant, the words you type are sent from your device so the app can find relevant local businesses, jobs and offers.

We do not use this information for advertising, and we do not sell it.

Why we collect it

We use this information only to run the app and provide search results. We do not use it to build profiles about you.

Who handles it

The app is built and hosted using third-party service providers who process this information on our behalf to run the app, including Base44. They are not permitted to use it for their own purposes. We do not share app data with other organisations.

Where it is stored

Information may be stored or processed on servers located outside Australia.

Security

Information sent between the app and our service providers is encrypted in transit.

How long we keep it

We keep app information only as long as needed to run the app.

Your choices and requests

You can stop the app collecting information at any time by uninstalling it. To ask a question about your privacy or request that information be deleted, contact us at ceo@busseltonchamber.com.au or (08) 9754 2694. We will respond within 5 days.

Changes

We may update this section if the app changes. The current version will always be on this page.
